PSD’s Ciolacu: Next week, together with PM and Kelemen Hunor, we announce pension increase

Published on

Social Democratic Party (PSD) President Marcel Ciolacu said on Thursday, in Drobeta-Turnu Severin, that next week, together with Prime Minister Nicole Ciuca, National Liberal Party (PNL) President and Deputy Prime Minister Kelemen Hunor, Hungarian Democratic Union (UDMR) President, he will make a announcement on the increase in pensions, according to Agerpres.

„Together with the Minister of Finance and the Prime Minister, we had a rather long discussion last night on the construction of the budget for next year. We envisage a 15% increase. I repeat: I cannot agree that at this moment to be increased by 15% for everyone. The pension point will definitely be increased for everyone: I don’t know if it will be 6, if it will be 12. The fact is that we must stop certain amounts to be directed to the disadvantaged categories, for that is how it is done in any economy. More than likely next week, together with Mr. Prime Minister and Mr. Kelemen Hunor, we will come and announce precisely,” Marcel Ciolacu declared in a press conference in Drobeta-Turnu Severin.

He also said that, at this moment, both PNL and PSD have work scenarios, but the nominal view is a 15% increase in pensions.
