Education Minister Sorin Cimpeanu: „School needs to change, be more open”

Published on

Education Minister Sorin Cimpeanu said on Monday that school needs to change and be more open, pointing out that the new education package attempts to set in place the most effective measures to bring about this much needed change, according to Agerpres.

„It’s an emotional moment for all of us, students, teachers and authorities alike. (…) School elicits emotions in all of us. School needs to change, it must become more open, as we see it open here, today, through the partnership you have with the local authorities. School will change thanks to the ‘Educated Romania’ project, whose major goal is to achieve a fair balance between supporting equity, supporting the access of every child in this country to quality education on the one hand, and supporting performance by Romanian students,” Cimpeanu said at the school year opening ceremony at the ‘Grigore Moisil’ National College in Bucharest, which was also attended by President Klaus Iohannis and Sector 6 mayor Ciprian Ciucu.

Cimpeanu added that the relevant legislative projects attempt to ensure the most effective measures to bring about the necessary change.

„The legislative projects attempt to set in place the most effective measures for bringing about the change that – as we all are aware – we all need,” Cimpeanu said.
