Published on

The Ministry of Education announced on Friday the launch of the call for equipping higher secondary education units (colleges, high schools, professional schools), children’s palaces and clubs with intelligent laboratories, financed from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, according to Agerpres.

Funding applications related to this call for projects can be submitted through the electronic platform dedicated to the PNRR, by observing the period: December 23, 2022 – March 1, 2023.

„We are allocating 117,499,800.00 EUR, through the PNRR, for equipping with „smart lab” ICT equipment and specific educational materials for the development of a smart digital laboratory in every high school, college, professional school, as well as in children’s palaces and clubs,” the Ministry of Education informs.

Furthermore, within the call, at least 120 higher secondary education units (colleges, high schools, technological high schools, professional schools, including those with dual education classes) will be able to benefit from a second intelligent laboratory if the number of pupils enrolled in the 2022 – 2023 academic year is at least 500.

In this case, the funding for the second intelligent laboratory will be granted based on the score resulting from the following indicators (in descending order): 50pct – the number of enrolled (high school) pupils, 25pct – the average of the high school baccalaureate exam in the last 3 years, 25pct – the success rate for the baccalaureate exam (from the number of registered candidates) in the last 3 years.

Within the call, the following types of activities will be financed:

* the purchase of technological equipment (including specially adapted and integrated ergonomic furniture) for the development of smart digital laboratories;

* the acquisition of educational content, which will cover areas from the school curriculum and educational software/license that will ensure the centralized distribution, in the local network, of didactic materials on devices;

* connecting the devices in the intelligent laboratory to the communication network of the educational unit;

* teaching staff training for using the equipment related to the integrated digital smart laboratory concept.
