Government approves days off on January 23, June 2 and August 14, 2023 in public sector

The Government approved, on Wednesday, the decision by which employees from public institutions and authorities are granted, in 2023, days off on January 23, June 2 and August 14, Government Spokesperson Dan Carbunaru announced, according to Agerpres.

„The Government approved the decision regarding the establishment of working days for which days off, other than legal holidays, are granted next year. Through this normative act, January 23, June 2 and August 14, 2023 will be days off for employees from the public institutions and authorities, considering that they are located between holidays which are officially days off according to the Labour Code and weekly rest days,” stated Carbunaru.

The draft also provides for the periods for the recovery of the working days established as days off by extending the working time accordingly until February 28, 2023, June 30, 2023, and August 31, 2023, respectively, according to the established plans.

According to the Labour Code, January 24 – the Day of the Union of the Romanian Principalities, June 1 – Children’s Day and August 15 – the Assumption of the Virgin Mary are legally off as official holidays.
