Rate of non-performing loans dropped to 2.65% in December 2022

The rate of non-performing loans was, at the end of last year, 2.65%, compared to 2.82% in September 2022 and 3.35% in December 2021, according to data centralized by the National Bank of Romania (BNR), Agerpres informs.

In December 2022, there were 32 credit institutions in Romania (34 in September 2022), eight of which were branches of foreign banks. Total assets amounted to 701.4 billion RON, 22.1 billion RON higher compared to the end of the third quarter.

The assets of institutions with private capital represented 87.9% of total assets, and the assets of institutions with foreign capital 68.1%.

Also, the solvency indicator was, in December 2022, 21.73%, compared to 21.52% at the end of September.
