Klaus Iohannis reiterates support in management of security challenges to Republic of Moldova

The president of Romania reiterated the message of firm support in the management of security challenges to the Republic of Moldova, as well as the economic imbalances caused by the conflict in Ukraine, informs the Presidential Administration, according to Agerpres.

President Klaus Iohannis, who received, on Wednesday, at the Cotroceni Palace the prime minister of the government of the Republic of Moldova, Dorin Recean, on an official visit to Romania, evoked the in-depth and constant dialogue, conducted at the political level, necessary for making decisions that lead to the advancement of the bilateral agenda, as well as the European course of the Republic of Moldova.

The two officials assessed the status of the implementation of priority objectives in the fields of energy, agriculture, transport and interconnectivity, health, education and information society, a context in which president Iohannis emphasized the need to create the necessary conditions to attract Romanian investments and improve the business environment.

The head of state highlighted the multidimensional assistance that our country provides to the Republic of Moldova, including for managing the crisis situations it is facing. Concrete ways of prioritizing and diversifying this assistance were also discussed.

Prime minister Dorin Recean thanked for the consistent and prompt support provided by Romania every time the Republic of Moldova was in difficulty. He expressed the gratitude of the authorities in Chisinau for the direct budgetary assistance, as well as for the constant support in the European course of the Republic of Moldova, the Presidential Administration mentions.

President Iohannis reconfirmed Romania’s commitment to provide full support in the processes of transformation, modernization and implementation of reforms, in the spirit of the bilateral strategic partnership for the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, based on the community of language, culture and history.
