The Mayor of the Capital, Nicusor Dan, announces that, as of Saturday, two Astra Imperio trams have entered into circulation on line 10, one of the longest and most heavily trafficked lines in Bucharest, connecting Banu Manta Boulevard and the Heroes of the Revolution neighborhood, write Agerpres.

„As of today, two Astra Imperio trams have entered into circulation on line 10. In total, 12 new Imperio trams produced by Astra Vagoane will be introduced on line 10, as they are delivered and received. These will ensure an increase of the current transport capacity by approximately 15%, an increase in speed and energy savings, as well as a reduction in the waiting time at the stations,” Nicusor Dan wrote on Facebook.

According to him, line 10, with a circular route, is one of the longest and most heavily trafficked lines in Bucharest and connects Banu Manta Boulevard with the Eroii Revolutiei neighborhood.

Out of the total number of 100 trams purchased, 32 are already running on lines 41 and 25, the mayor says.

„We continue to modernize the public transport in the Capital, so that it becomes an option as attractive as possible for citizens,” states Nicusor Dan.
