The first edition of the Romania-Korea Forum will take place on Tuesday in Bucharest and, according to the organisers, it brings together professionals from the governmental and academic sectors of both countries, write Agerpres.

The forum also marks the 15th anniversary of the signing of the Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Korea and Romania.

The inaugural edition will take place at Creart and is designed to exchange knowledge and expertise in areas of common interest to the Republic of Korea and Romania and to subsequently establish a network of experts and a platform to promote dialogue and coordination in policy making.

Opening the event will be Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Romania Kap-soo Rim, Secretary of State Traian Hristea from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania and President of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with the Republic of Korea Ben-Oni Ardelean.

During the first session, the speakers will analyse the evolution of bilateral relations between Korea and Romania, assessing areas with high potential for cooperation and identifying ways to foster substantial cooperation under the aegis of the Strategic Partnership.

The second session will address the concept of resilience in the context of international security, with speakers sharing views and expertise on cyber resilience and the interconnectivity of new technologies.

The third session will discuss the strategic importance of the Black Sea region, against the background of architectural changes in the security environment and ways to cooperate with strategic partners, including the Republic of Korea.

The organisers intend to develop the forum into an annual event, alternating between Romania and Korea.

According to the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Bucharest, the aim of the event is to create a „network” of experts and „identify creative policies.”
