More than 50 migrants discovered in a truck, at western border

More than 50 migrants from Bangladesh, Syria, India, Yemen, Sri Lanka and Nepal were discovered hiding in a truck that was going to leave the country through the western Nadlac II Border Crossing Point, the Arad Border Police informed on Friday, write Agerpres.

The driver is Turkish and was transporting hardware for furniture in Germany, and 54 foreign citizens were discovered among the goods.

„The persons were picked up and transported to the headquarters of the police sector where, following the checks, the border police established that they were citizens of Bangladesh, Syria, India, Yemen, Sri Lanka and Nepal, who were trying to illegally cross the border into Hungary with the intention to reach Western European states,” it is shown in a press release from the Arad Border Police.

Also, two migrants were found hiding in the cabin of a truck driven by a Romanian, which was transporting raw materials for tires to Italy.

In both cases, the drivers are investigated for migrant trafficking.
