PM Ciolacu: The September Romanian-German Business Forum in Berlin offers new investment prospects

Published on

The Romanian-German Business Forum that will take place in Berlin in September offers new investment prospects, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Thursday at a meeting with Germany’s ambassador to Romania Peer Gebauer, write Agerpres.

„We hope that by organising this event we will strengthen the upward trend of co-operation between our countries and attract new German investment to Romania in key sectors,” said Ciolacu, according to a government press statement.

He voiced the Executive’s openness to encouraging the entrepreneurial community as well as foreign investment.

In their conversation, the subjects addressed during Ciolacu’s official visit to Berlin in early July were detailed. The shared objective is to boost economic co-operation in sectors such as green energy, critical infrastructure, digital transformation, research and innovation.

The meeting at the Government House also provided an opportunity for a discussion on bilateral co-operation on the level of security in the Black Sea amidst the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Gebauer thanked Romania for the important role it plays in this difficult security context and also for co-operation within the Security Corridors, which ensure the transit of Ukrainian grain, essential for global food security.

Ciolacu thanked Germany for supporting Romania’s accession to the Schengen Area, adding that Romania continues to rely on such support.
