Acting President Ilie Bolojan received, on Thursday, at the Cotroceni Palace, a delegation of the French Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Romania (CCIFER), in the context of conferring the Order „Industrial and Commercial Merit” in the rank of CCIFER Officer.
The order was granted for the outstanding merits in the over three decades of French economic presence in Romania, for the significant contribution made to collaboration in key-areas of development, to attracting investments, as well as to creating jobs, establishing itself as a trusted partner of the business community in Romania, the Presidential Administration informed.
According to the cited source, in this context, the president of CCIFER, Nicolas Richard, emphasized that, for almost 30 years, the French Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Romania has been involved both in the development of Franco-Romanian companies and in stimulating new investments.
The over 4,200 companies with French capital, present in all fields of activity, have significantly contributed to the development of the Romanian economy by creating jobs, supporting exports, providing expertise and innovation, as well as by internationalizing Romanian SMEs, Richard highlighted.
According to him, French investors have found in Romania a vector of global competitiveness and a reservoir of talents in key sectors.
He stated that the organization’s constant objective is to maintain a competitive Romania for the business environment, so that investments continue and the economy prospers.
The interim president and the representatives of CCIFER held discussions regarding the development of economic relations between Romania and the French Republic.
Interim president Ilie Bolojan signed on Wednesday the decree decorating the Association of the French Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Romania.
