Romanian actors Mariana Mihut and Victor Rebengiuc on Tuesday were decorated by President Maia Sandu with medals of Moldova’s Order of Honour, the highest distinction of Moldova.

According to the Bucharest National Theatre House (TNB), the event took place on Tuesday evening, at the end of the show „Exit the King” performed at the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre House in Chisinau during the ninth edition of the Meeting of Romanian National Theatres.

„As a sign of high appreciation of his professional dedication throughout his impressive career, for his substantial contribution to the development and promotion of Romanian theatre, cinema and radio and television, for the unmistakable interpretation of roles meant to discover emblematic characters from Romanian and universal literature, as well as for active involvement in strengthening the cultural dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and Romania,” according to the Moldovan Presidency.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Meeting of Romanian National Theatres in Chisinau enjoyed the high presidential patronage of the presidents of Moldova and Romania, Maia Sandu and Klaus Iohannis.

The event was organised by the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre House and is backed by the ministries of culture of Romania and Moldova and by the Romanian Cultural Institute.
