The means of transport from Ukraine transiting Romania will be sealed upon entering the country, even if they already bear a seal, so that they can be tracked through the system and confirmed at their destination, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Petre Daea, said on Friday, at the end of the discussions with his Ukrainian counterpart, Mikola Solski, write Agerpres.
Petre Daea specified that important things were done regarding the transit of products from Ukraine with all the specialists involved, since in this situation the minister of Agriculture is not the only one responsible, although he has become „enemy number one, but the savior of the situation”.
Minister Daea specified that Romania also took measures regarding grain imports from Ukraine, which his counterpart appreciated as „normal, correct and in line with European legislation”, i.e. taking samples in customs, not only at the destination.
Also, the two ministers agreed to communicate weekly on the quantities of imported products and those leaving in transit so that there are no interpretations based on figures.
Next week, the Ukrainian counterpart will come to Romania again for a new round of discussions on this topic, said the Romanian minister of Agriculture, who ended his speech with a series of thanks and wishes of welcome to minister Mikola Solski.
For his part, Mikola Solski thanked Petre Daea for the „sincere and constructive dialogue” and the Romanian people for the „sincere support” he felt in the last two years.
