The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Petre Daea, will participate, on Monday, in the meeting of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council (AGRIFISH), which will take place in Brussels, informs on Sunday a press release from the relevant ministry, according to Agerpres.
The agenda of the meeting will include important aspects for the Romanian agricultural sector: the new EU forest strategy for 2030, agricultural aspects on the restoration of nature, fertilizers and food security, the energy transition of fisheries and aquaculture.
According to MADR, the ministers will discuss the progress made in the implementation of the new EU forest strategy for 2030 and will hold an exchange of views on the actions taken at EU and national level.
At the meeting, there will also be an exchange of views regarding the Commission’s recent communication on fertilizers, published on November 9, 2022.
„The Spanish delegation will inform the ministers about the need to ensure the availability and financial accessibility of fertilizers, as a basis for food security. The Commission will communicate to the ministers a concrete action plan to promote the energy transition of the fisheries and aquaculture sectors. At the same time, European officials will receive information from the Commission regarding the results of the EU Bioeconomy Conference, which took place on October 6-7, 2022 in Brussels,” reads the press release.
