The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued on Thursday a Code Yellow advisory for heavy rainfall valid until Friday night in eight counties, along with an advisory for rain and strong winds affecting most regions.

According to the weather forecast, a Code Yellow warning for unstable weather will be in effect in the counties of Alba, Arad, Bihor, Cluj, Hunedoara, Maramures, Salaj and Satu Mare, where, between September 11 at 10:00 and September 12 at 3:00, rainfall amounts of 25-30 l/sqm are expected, locally exceeding 50 l/sqm.

At the same time, from September 11 at 10:00 until September 12 at 20:00, an advisory will be in effect for significant rainfall and temporary wind intensifications, on Thursday mainly in the intra-Carpathian regions, and on Friday especially in the southern and eastern regions, as well as in mountainous areas.

Isolated thunderstorms are expected, with accumulated rainfall amounts of 20-40 l/sqm and, in some areas, exceeding 50 l/sqm.

Throughout Thursday, the wind will temporarily strengthen across most of the country, generally reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h, while in mountainous areas gusts will exceed 60-80 km/h. AGERPRES
