Another Romanian citizen died in Spain’s floods

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informs that, according to the information sent by the Spanish authorities, another person on the list of Romanian citizens initially reported as missing has been identified as deceased.

The Romanian Ministry sends its condolences to the bereaved family.

Until now, following the meteorological phenomena that affected the Kingdom of Spain, two Romanian citizens have died and seven Romanian citizens are reported as missing. At the same time, the Romanian Embassy in Madrid and the Romanian Consulate in Castellon de la Plana continued to verify the information in the public space on the death of some Romanian citizens, victims of the recent meteorological phenomena that affected the Valencian Community, but until this moment confirmations from the Spanish authorities have not been received.

The representatives of the Romanian Consulate in Castellon de la Plana continued the dialogue with the Romanian citizens, including family members, who reported the missing persons, and remain ready to provide consular assistance, depending on requests. The representatives of the diplomatic mission and the consular office stay in permanent contact with the competent Spanish authorities regarding the Romanian citizens affected by the recent meteorological phenomena.

Romanian citizens can request consular assistance at the telephone numbers of the Romanian Consulate in Castellon de la Plana: +34 964.203.331; +34 964.216.008; +34 964.217.836; +34 964.203.234; +34 964.216.172; +34.964.212.446, the calls being redirected to the Contact and Support Center of Romanian Citizens Abroad (CCSCRS) and taken over by Call Center operators on a permanent basis.
