ANSVSA – Decisive step to diversify exports to the Kingdom of Morocco

Published on

During a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco on Wednesday, the delegation of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA), led by its President Dr. Alexandru BOCIU, took a decisive step in the diversification of Romanian exports. It has initialed the veterinary health certificates needed to start exporting sheep, cattle and goat carcasses, as well as honey, milk and dairy products.

This achievement is the fruit of negotiations carried out by ANSVSA specialists since 2017 and represents an important step forward in trade relations between Romania and the Kingdom of Morocco.

Another important objective achieved was the resumption of sheep exports to the Kingdom of Morocco. ANSVSA’s sustained efforts, together with the support of governmental partners, underline Romania’s commitment to protect animal health and promote international trade, while supporting the development and competitiveness of the Romanian agricultural sector in the global market.

The delegation was organized in a public-private partnership, reflecting the close collaboration between the authorities and the private sector. Romanian sheep breeders had the opportunity to meet Moroccan businessmen, thus contributing to the strengthening of economic and trade relations and increasing live animal exports.

„Through its initiatives, ANSVSA is creating new opportunities for Romanian producers by diversifying exports to the Kingdom of Morocco. This gives farmers the chance to capitalize on the value of their high-quality products on this market, thus reinforcing Romania’s status as a significant player in agriculture and the food industry, ” said ANSVSA President Alexandru Bociu.
