Approximately 7.6 tons of waste from Vacaresti Natural Park, collected with help of volunteers

Published on

Approximately 7.6 tons of waste were collected on Saturday with the help of volunteers during the greening action of the Vacaresti Natural Park, announced the mayor of the capital, Nicusor Dan.

„Thank you to the hundreds of Bucharest residents of all ages who responded to the call to clean up this large area of land. It’s not about trash thrown by park visitors, because we have staff dedicated to cleaning the area, but it’s about old waste, some covered by vegetation, thrown here before the Vacaresti Delta became a protected area,” Nicusor Dan wrote on his Facebook page.

The mayor recalls that he took over this area three years ago and established an institution to deal with the protection of the flora and fauna here – the Vacaresti Natural Park Administration.
