A whiskey dedicated to Queen Elisabeth II, collection wines and cigars in limited editions will be put up for sale on Wednesday, at an auction organized by the A10 Artmark Auction House, write Agerpres.
According to Artmark, Port Ellen Maltings whiskey was bottled on the occasion of the visit of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain to the Port Ellen Distilleries on 9 August 1980. A small quantity was bottled on the occasion of the royal visit in approximately 40 bottles of 70 centiliter, which were given to the queen and her accompanying staff. Artmark shows that, on the market, bottles from this special edition rarely appear and are sold at exceptional prices, the quality score being appreciated as well – it is the only whiskey that obtained a score of 99/100 points, the highest ever awarded by Serge Valentin, a leading authority in the world of collectible whisky.
The lot put up for sale has a starting price of 5,000 EUR.
Also within the session, there is one of the best rated wines in the world – Maison Leroy Auxey Duresses. Maison Leroy is the most prestigious wine cellar in Burgundy. The bottle of Maison Leroy from 2018 has a starting price of 500 EUR.
Two lots of six bottles of Chateau La Fleur Petrus, from 2011 and 2019 respectively, auctioned as the best Merlot wines in the world, have starting prices from 500 and 1,000 EUR, respectively. The wines proposed in the auction are the property of one of the few collectors in Romania who benefit from a direct allocation of the famous castle, Artmark mentions.
Moreover, very old collection of wines are put up for sale: Chateau du Magne from 1945, for 75 EUR, Chateau Montbrun, Grand Vin de Bordeaux, from 1937, for 50 EUR, Cepa Semillon Extra, for 75 EUR.
