AUR’s Simion on USR’s announced censure motion: We provide signatures and text

Published on

Alliance for Romanians’ Union (AUR) Chairman George Simion, candidate in the presidential elections, said on Wednesday that he is providing the Save Romania Union (USR) with the AUR text and signatures for the submission of the censure motion against the current government, „which breaks the laws, which puts a fist in the mouth of the opposition.”

” (…) we want this Iohannis Government, which reinstates dictatorship, which violates electoral laws, which puts its fist in the mouth of the opposition, to go home and until the elections to have an interim government that has only one purpose, only one purpose, to ensure the smooth conduct of elections and not to violate the Constitution, as they did on June 9. We cannot have fair elections as long as they are organised by this PSD-PNL [Social Democratci Party-National Liberal Party] Government and by Klaus Werner Iohannis, who, instead of being a guarantor of the Constitution, violates the Constitution,” said Simion.

He added that the signatures of USR and AUR are sufficient to table the motion.

„We provide Mrs. Lasconi, even if she is not in Parliament, with these signatures, together with the signatures of USR. They are enough for the motion to be tabled. It can be read on Monday and voted on Wednesday, if there is really interest and if it is not a political game,” concluded Simion.

On the other hand, Simion said that in recent days there had been „many provocations and threats” against AUR.

USR Chair Elena Lasconi announced that she was working, together with her party colleagues, on a motion of censure against the Ciolacu Government and urged PNL leader Nicolae Ciuca to sign the motion.
