The balance of non-governmental credit granted by credit institutions increased, in June 2024, by 1.8% compared to May 2024 (1.6% in real terms), up to the level of 400.695 billion RON, according to data from the National Bank of Romania, published on Tuesday.
Credit in RON, with a weight of 69.1% in the total volume of non-governmental credit, increased by 2.3%, and foreign currency credit expressed in RON, with a weight of 30.9% in the total volume of non-governmental credit, increased by 0.8% (similar evolution in the case of expressing the indicator in euros).
Compared to the same period of 2023, the non-governmental credit registered an increase of 6.7% (1.7% in real terms), due to the 8.7% increase in the component in RON (3.5% in real terms) and with 2.7% of the foreign currency component expressed in lei (2.4% in the case of expressing the indicator in euros).
The balance of government credit granted by credit institutions decreased in June 2024 by 1.3% compared to May 2024, up to 211.569 billion RON. Compared to June 2023, it increased by 17.6% (12% in real terms).
The monetary mass in a broad sense (M3) registered a balance of 684.823 billion RON. This decreased by 0.7% (-1% in real terms) compared to May 2024, and compared to June 2023 it increased by 9.7% (4.5% in real terms).
