The Ministry of Agriculture has a program to boost exports, including under the National Strategic Plan (NSP), where there is a component for the promotion of Romanian products, said on Tuesday the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Florin-Ionut Barbu, at the eighth edition of FoodIntelForum, an event representing agribusiness, food production, beverage production, retail and HoReCa.
Minister Barbu argues that Romanian products are further being promoted by the relevant ministry by markup capping and by the scheme whereby agricultural products from Ukraine will no longer enter our country unless they are licensed by the Ministry of Agriculture.
„The trade part is under the Ministry of Economy and it has programs to promote Romanian products. In addition, under the National Strategic Plan there will be lines through which producers, processors, cooperatives and associations can access European money for promotion, money that is 100% from the NSP,” the minister said.
In February, Florin Barbu stated that the Ministry of Agriculture will have a policy based solely on investments, and that the money that will flow into Romanian agriculture will no longer be invested in a chaotic way, but where there is a deficit in the trade balance.
