Brasov County, absolute champion in national economic growth, says PM Ciolacu

Published on

Brasov County is the absolute champion in terms of economic growth at national level, and the role of the current government is to maintain this pace of development, prime minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Tuesday, while heading an extraordinary government meeting, at the Military Club in central Brasov.

„In the last two years, this county has developed twice as fast as the rest of the country, with an economic growth of 11.6% compared to the 6.8% national average. We have almost 200,000 employees who produce added value every day in this county. For the first time, GDP, meaning production per capita in the county, increased by 50% compared to 2020, reaching a record level of 20,000 euros. In a nutshell, Brasov County is today a successful model, which knew how to adapt to the new economic realities, to produce much more and thus to make forgotten the so-called glory of the former communist factories,” Marcel Ciolacu said.

The prime minister added that investments in local infrastructure, education and health at county level amount to over 3 billion RON.
