Bucharest Stock Exchange opens higher on Wednesday

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened higher on almost all indices on Wednesday, with the trading turnover reaching 2.23 million lei (448,489 euros) within the first 30 minutes of the session.

The main BET index, which tracks the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, saw a 0.09% increase. The BET-Plus index, which represents the 43 most liquid stocks on the BVB, rose 0.10%.

The extended blue-chip index BET-XT, which includes the 25 most liquid stocks, was up 0.07%. The benchmark index for investment funds, BET-BK, appreciated 0.02%.

Meanwhile, the BET-FI index, which tracks the performance of the financial investment companies (SIFs), remained stable, and the BET-NG index, which includes 10 companies from the energy and utilities sectors, gained 0.09%.

The BET AeRO index, which covers 20 representative companies from the AeRO market, was down 0.25%.

According to BVB data, the largest increases in stock values were registered by Electrocontract Industrial Group (+10.89%), Chimcomplex Borzesti (+2.47%), and Green Tech International (+2.16%).

On the other hand, the stocks of Sinteza (-14.77%), Romcab (-14.67%), and Mecanica Ceahlau (-6.48%) saw the largest declines.
