Top-seeded Romanian tennis player Cezar Cretu won the 25,000-dollar COMESAD BCR Open (ITF) tournament in Pitesti on Sunday, after defeating Corentin Denolly of France 6-7 (6-8 ), 6-2, 6-3, write Agerpres.
Cretu (age 22, No. 401 in the ATP rankings) clinched the victory in two hours and 33 minutes, in which time he pulled off 4 aces, while Denolly (26, ATP No.552) managed 5 aces, but also committed 8 double faults.
Cretu had previously defeated Denolly in the semifinals of the 2022 M25 Pirot tournament (Serbia) 6-3, 6-3.
This is Cezar Cretu’s most important career title and his fourth ITF win, after those in Craiova (2022), Antalya and Bucharest (both in 2023).
