The chargé d’affaires of the Russian Embassy in Bucharest was summoned, on Thursday, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), in the context of finding fragments of a Russian drone in Romania, the MAE reports.
„The representative of the MAE conveyed the firm protest of the Romanian authorities and condemned the repeated attacks by the Russian forces on the Ukrainian civil infrastructure, requesting their immediate cessation. He reminded that the targeting of civilian targets represents war crimes. He emphasized the irresponsible nature of the military strikes, including in the immediate proximity of Romania’s border, which endangers national security. On a broader level, he highlighted the exclusive responsibility of the Russian Federation, as a result of the aggression against Ukraine, for the serious deterioration of the security environment at the Black Sea”, the Romanian Ministry said.
Fragments of a Russian drone were found near the town of Plauru, after the strikes from Tuesday night to Wednesday on the civil and port infrastructure in Ukraine, near the border with Romania, the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) reported on Thursday.
The investigations carried out by relevant specialists started on Wednesday.
„Until this moment, at the first of the three locations identified as possible areas of incidence, in the vicinity of Plauru, Tulcea county, fragments from a Geran1/2 Russian drone were identified. Search will continue today to cover the entire area. We make it clear that all the locations identified as possible incidence areas are outside the inhabited areas, with no infrastructure elements being affected”, said MApN.
