The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued a Code Yellow warning for atmospheric instability on Monday, valid throughout the day for 25 counties, as well as a general weather advisory affecting all regions until Thursday evening.
According to the specialist forecast, on Monday between 12:00 PM and 11:00 PM, there will be periods of significant atmospheric instability, characterised by torrential showers, frequent lightning, and short-term wind gusts (50-70 km/h), especially in mountainous areas, most of Moldavia and Transylvania, as well as northern and eastern Muntenia.
Additionally, rainfall amounts will range between 15-25 litres per square meter, and in isolated areas, up to 30-50 liters per square metre. Storms and hail may also occur in some locations.
The Code Yellow warning applies to the counties of: Alba, Arges, Bacau, Braila, Brasov, Buzau, Cluj, Calarasi, Caras-Severin, Covasna, Dambovita, Gorj, Galati, Hunedoara, Harghita, Ialomita, Iasi, Mehedinti, Mures, Neamt, Prahova, Sibiu, Valcea, Vrancea and Vaslui.
According to meteorologists, from May 5 at 12:00 PM to May 8 at 11:00 PM, a general advisory for atmospheric instability will remain in effect across all regions. This will bring torrential rain, lightning, and wind gusts (generally 40-50 km/h). Rainfall amounts are expected to exceed 20-40 litres per square meter, with storms and hail in some areas.
