Consolidated general budget deficit up to 2.43 pct of GDP January through July 2023

The consolidated general budget deficit rose to 2.43 pct of GDP after the first seven months of the year, to 38.6 billion RON, from 2.34 pct of GDP, respectively 37.21 billion RON, at the end of the first semester, according to the data published on Tuesday by the Ministry of Finance, write Agerpres.

„Execution of the consolidated general budget in the first seven months of 2023 ended with a deficit of 38.6 billion RON, respectively 2.43 pct of GDP, compared to the deficit of 26.7 billion RON, respectively 1.89 pct of the related GDP the first seven months of 2022,” the Ministry of Finance says.

The total revenues of the consolidated budget amounted to 288.06 billion RON in the period January – July 2023, increasing by 11.5 pct (year/year), and the expenses totaled 326.66 billion RON, increasing in nominal terms by 14.6 pct compared to the same period of the previous year.

The budget for this year is built on a deficit of 4.4 pct of GDP.
