The Constanta Port Business Association (CPBA) signed on Wednesday a collaboration protocol with the EU-Georgia Business Council, which underlines the importance of Constanta Port as a strategic point for trade flows between Europe and Asia, according to a press release sent on Wednesday.

According to the said source, the protocol was signed during the Maritime Business Week international event, held between June 26 and 28, 2024, under the organization of the Constanta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Navigation and Agriculture (CCINA) at the Constanta Exhibition Pavilion.

EU-Georgia Business Council (EUGBC) is the organization that promotes economic relations between Georgia and the European Union, offering support to companies in the development of new business and investment opportunities.

„Constanta Port Business Association supports and represents economic agents from the port of Constanta, promoting a dynamic and competitive business environment, and supports the development of the port of Constanta as a logistic node of great potential for commercial flows between Europe and the Caspian Sea. The protocol was signed at the Romania-Georgia International Business Forum, organized as part of the event, in the presence of Her Excellency Ambassador Tamar Beruchashvili and Mr. Zviad Chumburidze, Secretary General of the EUGBC,” the press release reads.

According to the source, this agreement continues the series of initiatives of the association, started with the Caspian Sea – Black Sea Forum, organized for the first time in Constanta on April 7, 2023.

The event emphasized the strategic importance of the Caspian Sea – Black Sea transport corridor and strengthened commercial relations between the Caspian region and Europe, bringing together leaders from the transport and logistics industry at the international level last year.

The protocol concluded between CPBA and EUGBC aims to facilitate new business opportunities for their members, capitalizing on the advantages of the Constanta Port, strengthening the economic cooperation between Romania and Georgia through the strategic use of the Constanta port and supporting the development of transport through the Caspian Sea – Black Sea corridor for commercial exchanges between Europe and Asia and the exit of goods from Asia to global destinations.
