„The selection of ‘The New Year That Never Came’ for the European Discovery 2024 – Prix FIPRESCI category, and ‘Three Kilometers to the End of the World’ for the European University Film Award, represents a remarkable recognition of the talent and creativity of the teams behind these productions, which have delighted us in recent months with their presence at numerous international festivals,” Turcan wrote on Facebook.

The minister said that these nominations confirm the value of Romanian cinema on the international stage, demonstrating that the efforts and dedication of our filmmakers are appreciated throughout Europe.

„The Ministry of Culture remains firm in its commitment to support the development and promotion of this vital sector for our cultural identity,” added Raluca Turcan.
