The Government’s decision on setting the date of the Romanian presidential elections was published on Thursday evening in the Official Gazette.

„Sunday, May 4, is set as the date for the election of the President of Romania in 2025. The present decision enters into force on February 18, 2025”, reads the normative act signed by Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.

The decision was adopted on Thursday by the Government.

The presidential elections are restarted from scratch after the Constitutional Court canceled in December 2024 the second round of voting.
