Minister of national defence Angel Tilvar on Wednesday stated that the European F-16 training centres is like a hub for regional security.

„As of November 13 last year we have been working together to develop this training centres into a real hub of regional security. We believe that the European F-16 training centre is an important achievement and a hub for regional security, which allows us to reach the training standards of our alliances and partners. We contribute thus to the increase in cohesion and we prove that we have the unity and strengthened defence and deterrence capacity to fight against any aggression targeting the Euro-Atlantic space,” Angel Tilvar stated at the 86th Air Base „Locotenent aviator Gheorghe Mociornita” in Borcea, the Calarasi County, during an event occasioned by the arrival of three F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft of the Dutch Royal Forces, which will be made available for the European F-16 aircraft training centre.

Attending the same event was also the Dutch minister of national defence, Kajsa Ollongren.

The two ministers attended a demonstration flight of the f-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft.
