Film enthusiasts and visual arts lovers from all over Europe are invited to join a unique experience, the launch of the project CineEuroConnect: A Collaborative Film Museum & Heritage Film Festival, the deadline for applications being 10 September, write Agerpres.

„I believe that cinema is not just an art or a form of entertainment, but a real need in our lives. It connects us, challenges us to think and feel, to explore and learn. CineEuroConnect is not just an event, but a manifestation of this need, of this common passion to share stories, to explore the past and to build bridges towards the future and with each other, regardless of borders,” says Mirona Radu, artistic director of CineEuroConnect, in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday.

Within this project, contributors are invited to share personal objects with special meanings closely related to their relationship with cinema. These objects will later form a mosaic that tells about the collective passion for film. From old movie tickets and precious souvenirs, to behind-the-scenes photos and handmade creations inspired by movies, each object brings memories, emotions and perspectives of moviegoers.

The selected objects will become part of a collaborative project combining visual art and cinema. This exhibition will make its physical debut in Timisoara, with a preview in Samos, Greece, and will travel as an itinerant exhibition with a selection of objects in Sofia, Bulgaria and Szolnok, Hungary, offering a European perspective on art and cinema.

Also, a virtual gallery at the www.CineEuroConnect.org will ensure global accessibility. In parallel with the exhibition of objects, CineEuroConnect brings together 12 emerging visual artists to reinterpret the impact of cinema on society through their works. The artists selected by a committee of experts from Ireland, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania and Egypt will receive a 1,000-euro gross each scholarship to create original works that will be integrated into the exciting journey of the project.

CineEuroConnect: A Collaborative Film Museum & Heritage Film Festival thus combines cinema and visual arts to create a symphony of narratives and emotions, connecting communities, cultures and histories. The project includes a series of activities designed to provide a coherent and immersive experience to participants.

The debates will bring together European artists, curators and guests in three discussion sessions on current topics such as artificial intelligence, the impact of heritage on creativity and the importance of cinema in the era of new platforms and technologies. In addition, there will be a Heritage Film Festival with screenings of European films from the film heritage in Timisoara, Samos and Sofia.
