Economy minister optimistic pause to Romania’s Visa Waiver entry will be short

The Romanian state has put in huge efforts, invested a lot and met all the requirements of the Visa Waiver Program, therefore the government expects the review procedure to not take very long and have a positive outcome for Romania, Minister of Economy, Digital Transformation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism Bogdan Ivan declared at the Palace of Parliament on Wednesday.

„Romania has made huge efforts, met all the requirements of the Visa Waiver Program, we even had the formal written approval of the Homeland Security on this subject, and Romania is not the only country subjected to the current review procedure, but all the VWP states. Given that Romania has already met all the conditions, we obviously expect a positive result,” Ivan said when asked about this topic at the Government Question Time.

„I don’t know what the technicalities are, I expect the reassessment to be completed as soon as possible and for us to re-enter this program for which the Romanian state has invested a lot, making a huge effort to meet all the requirements,” said the minister, expressing his hope that the review procedure will not take very long.
