Romania and Kuwait have opportunities for collaboration in numerous areas of interest, such as the defence industry, which will help increasing the competitiveness of the two states, according to a press release of the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MEAT) sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.
According to the same source, the Minister of Economy, Stefan-Radu Oprea, on Tuesday, August 27, received the Kuwaiti ambassador, Talal Mansour Alhajeri. The two officials discussed the strengthening of bilateral collaboration, both through joint governmental projects and through partnerships between the business environment of the two countries.
The foreign official supported the idea of organizing a joint collaboration committee, to discuss topics of interest related to partnerships in the areas of trade, investments and SMEs.
For his part, the Romanian minister mentioned that, at present, there are numerous opportunities for collaboration in several areas of interest for both parties, such as that of the defence industry, where Romania focuses on the transformation of the national profile industry and on increasing competitiveness.
Also, Oprea emphasised that Romania represents a favourable ecosystem for the development of partnerships in the IT field, holding a privileged position in terms of the number of certified IT specialists per thousand inhabitants – 1st in Europe and 6th worldwide.
At the end of the meeting, both sides concluded that it is necessary to organize events and business forums that would give the business environment of the two countries the opportunity to deepen the already existing dialogue and collaboration in order to start new projects.
