Entry to Romania denied for 17 tons of waste declared as second-hand goods

Published on

Authorities at the Nadlac II Border Crossing Points denied entry to Romania for two trucks carrying a total of 17 tons of cargo from Germany and France, declared to be second-hand products, but which proved to actually be waste.

The check conducted by customs officers together with representatives of the Arad County Commissariat of the National Environmental Guard and the Arad Consumer Protection Office determined that the trucks were actually carrying 17 tons of waste consisting of used tires, bicycles, scaffolding, mattresses, textiles and electronics that came from trading companies in Germany and France and were intended for companies in Romania, the Arad Border Police informed on Friday.

As the drivers did not have the required documentation for waste imports, the control authorities decided to deny the shipments’ entry to Romania.
