European Parliament Vice President Victor Negrescu will open the first edition of the D-Tech Forum 2025 in Bucharest on Friday, a regional summit aimed to align visions on digitisation and cybersecurity within the context of the European Competitiveness Plan.
The event, which will take place at the National Bank of Romania, will be attended by ministers and representatives of Romanian institutions responsible for digitisation and cybersecurity, alongside top figures from the private sector and cybersecurity experts from other countries in the region. Also present will be specialists from the European Parliament and decision-makers from other national authorities, with the goal of discussing Romania’s involvement in the initiative launched by Victor Negrescu in March in Brussels.
Among the invited guests are: Bogdan Ivan – Minister of Economy, Digitisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Alexandru Rafila – Minister of Health, Adrian Victor Vevera – Director General, ICI Bucharest, Dan Cimpean – Director of the National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC), Marius Moisescu – Dean of the Faculty of Automation and Computer Science, Polytechnic University, Ciprian Dobre – Vice-Rector, National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest, Gabriela Folcut – Executive Director, Romanian Banking Association, Sergiu Zaharia – Director, Cyber Strategy Advisory, Deloitte, as well as representatives of other institutions and experts in digitisation and cybersecurity from Romania and abroad.
According to the organisers, topics proposed for discussion include: ensuring democratic access to digital society and services, AI applications in automating digital services, applications for networks and 5G/6G technology, universal access to electronic payments, privacy versus counter-terrorism efforts, cybersecurity regulation, the human factor in cyber risk assessment, technical matters such as mobile device security and protecting IoT equipment.
