Romania and Poland together with other powerful chancelleries in the European Union are at the table of discussions and concrete decisions regarding the reconstruction of Ukraine, but our country must ensure that it can rely on domestic production in the steel and petrochemical industries, said Bogdan Ivan, Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, at the Parliament Palace on Wednesday.

„What interests us as a country is to be at the forefront of Ukraine’s reconstruction. I have also had discussions with my Polish counterparts, and with the business environment, on a very constant basis, and with employers’ organizations, including working groups, with the steel industry, which is an extremely pressing problem with a very high economic potential, and we must ensure that we have production in Romania, so that we can rebuild Ukraine, with the petrochemical industry. (…). At the same time, this summer, in Rome, there is going to be an extremely applied and concrete meeting on everything that means economic organization for the reconstruction of Ukraine. Romania – together with Poland, together with other powerful chancelleries in the EU – is at the table of discussions and concrete decisions on this extremely important plan, in which we and Poland are in the front line,” Ivan said, in the context of a question on this topic at Government Question Time.
