The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) has made the payment of state aid to agricultural producers in the plant sector, approved by the Romanian Government as a direct grant of 100 euros per hectare, the agency announced Thursday.

According to the cited source, the beneficiaries will have the money in their accounts in the next two days.

„The amount paid is 1,531,596,236.88 RON and is granted from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR), for an area of 3,216,648 ha and a number of 156,485 beneficiaries,” reads the release.

APIA representatives say that the maximum amount of the direct grant awarded per beneficiary cannot exceed the equivalent in lei of 280,000 EUR, at the exchange rate of 4.9334 RON/EUR.

The direct grant is given to beneficiaries of applications submitted and approved under Government Ordinance No 5/2024 on the establishment of a state aid scheme to support enterprises engaged in the primary production of agricultural crop products, following Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
