ForMin Odobescu condemns attack against Israel at extraordinary meeting of EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs

Foreign affairs minister Luminita Odobescu, participated on Tuesday, via videoconference, in the extraordinary meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the EU Member States, on which occasion she strongly condemned the attack against Israel and expressed solidarity with the Israeli people, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informed in a press release sent to AGERPRES.

„During the discussions, the Romanian foreign minister strongly condemned the attack against Israel and expressed solidarity with the Israeli people in these difficult times, as well as commitment to the security of this state. She voiced concern about the danger of a worsening situation in the Middle East, with repercussions on regional and international security, and stressed the importance of coordination with the US, UK and regional partners in de-escalation efforts,” reads the MAE press release.

Foreign minister Luminita Odobescu also underlined the importance of reaching an agreement for a ceasefire, the release of all hostages held by Hamas and the provision of humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian population affected by the crisis, as a key element for regional stability, the MAE release added.
