Govt’ says presidential election preparations on schedule

Government spokesman Mihai Constantin said on Wednesday that preparations for the May 4 presidential election are on schedule, and all the public bodies with electoral responsibilities collaborate to conduct the election smoothly.

„There is a report on the latest developments in the organisation and conduct of the election of the President of Romania this weekend. Everything is on schedule, all the bodies with electoral responsibilities collaborate to conduct the elections in smoothly,” Constantin told a news conference at the Government House.

He added that for the May 4 vote there are 18,979 polling stations, and information about their location and accessibility is published on the website of the Standing Electoral Authority (AEP).

„There are 965 polling stations abroad. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends the voters abroad to find in advance the address of the polling station where they intend to exercise their right to vote. Voting abroad takes place for 3 days, May 2, 3 and 4,” said Constantin.
