Gov’t talks/USR’s Lasconi: We were firm, we said respect for the law and elections on schedule

Published on

At the government talks on the election calendar, the Save Romania Union (USR) delegation reaffirmed that it wants the law to be obeyed and elections held on schedule, USR national leader Elena Lasconi said on Monday at the end of the talks at the Government House.

„I think this dialogue was pointless (…) it seems that they are playing with democracy. We will see if the consultation was just perfunctory (…). We were firm, as in the previous statements – we said respect for the law and elections on schedule,” said Lasconi.

According to the USR leader, talks focused on the elections, while the Romanians’ problems are different.

„I find it absolutely incredible that all things are more expensive from today and prices for diesel and gasoline are also increasing.”

The government has scheduled consultations with political parties on Monday and Tuesday on the electoral calendar for this year’s presidential and parliamentary elections.
