The government on Wednesday will approve a 5-billion-euro investment for the Targu Neamt-Iasi-Ungheni motorway, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced.

The more than 88 km of motorway will be ready in three years, the prime minister said at the beginning of the government meeting.

„We are approving, as we are used to, a new major investment in road infrastructure, the Targu Neamt-Iasi-Ungheni motorway. The more than 88 km of highway will be ready in three years and will contribute, as is normal, to the economic development of the area. It is an investment of over 5 billion euro, financed mainly from European funds, for the 2021-2027 financial exercise,” Ciolacu said.

According to the draft decision on the agenda of the meeting, the Executive is to approve the technical and economic indicators related to the investment objective „Targu Neamt-Iasi-Ungheni motorway” in Iasi County.
