The interim president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, claims that no names were circulated for the position of prime minister at the informal consultations convened by President Nicusor Dan, so, implicitly, Mr. Lucian Croitoru was not discussed either.
This, after information appeared in the central press that the scenario of a technocrat prime minister is back under discussion following the consultations at Cotroceni, and one option for prime minister being discussed would be Lucian Croitoru, advisor to the BNR governor.
„I also said yesterday after leaving the informal consultations convened by President Nicusor Dan that there was no discussion at all about individuals. Given that there was no discussion at all about individuals, implicitly, there was no discussion about Mr. Lucian Croitoru either,” Grindeanu said in a press conference, when asked if this version was true.
The interim leader of the PSD emphasized that the consultations aimed to discuss only issues related to programs and possible measures to be taken by the future government in the coming period, but he did not rule out political discussions in the future.
„I repeat what I said yesterday, after the press conference. We did not discuss these things, we did not discuss names, neither Lucian Croitoru, nor Ilie Bolojan, nor any other name. We did not discuss these things for a simple reason: because we announced, and this was also the president’s wish, that we were discussing for the first time issues related to programs, projects, and possible measures that the future government will have to take in the coming period. And then, discussing things in this form, we did not discuss others. But that does not mean that there will probably not be political discussions in the future,” he said.
Sorin Grindeanu, who is also Minister of Transport, participated on Thursday at a press conference on the occasion of the signing of the contract for the design and execution of the Miercurea Nirajului – Sara?eni section of the Unirii Motorway (A8).
