The 100% Romanian air operator Dan Air has officially become a member of the International Air Transport Association – IATA, which promotes high standards of safety, security, sustainability and efficiency in aviation.
According to a press release of the company sent to AGERPRES on Friday, the IATA membership was obtained following the registration in the IOSA register, which took place in 2024, and which is a guarantee that the Romanian air operator aligns itself with the highest international standards and regulations on safety and security in aviation.
„We are a company that constantly wants to evolve and offer better and better services because we know that our passengers deserve it. Moreover, one of our missions is to show that a company with purely Romanian DNA can offer safe trips and comfortable at least at the level of those offered by the other international operators. Our inclusion as a member of the IATA organization proves that the things mentioned above are not just promises, but facts,” said Matt Ian Davis, CEO of Dan Air.
Currently, more than 330 companies from all over the world are IATA members, of which four are from Romania.
Dan Air is a Romanian airline, founded in 2017, by pilot-in-command Dan Iuhas, under the name „Just Us Air.” For a while, the operator only performed ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, Insurance) flights for various internationally renowned airlines, such as: Transavia, TUI, Arik, Sund Air, Air Moldova, Air Baltic, Air Serbia, Wizz Air , Air Cote D’Ivoire, Jazeera Airways and Anima Wings.
Later, the company changed its name to Dan Air and started, as of June 15, 2023, the operation of regular flights under its own brand, from the Brasov-Ghimbav International Airport.
As of December 11, 2023, the domestic air operator exclusively operates flights from the „George Enescu” International Airport in Bacau.
