Iasi City to host Annual Meeting of Euro-Asian Bridge Society of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeons

Almost 200 participants from 37 countries on all continents will attend the 17th Annual Meeting of the Euro-Asian Bridge Society of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeons – EABM 2024, said director of the Iasi Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, Prof. Dr. Grigore Tinica on Wednesday, mentioning that this event aims to be a key platform for the exchange of experiences and the dissemination of the latest innovations in the field of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.

The scientific program of EABM 2024 includes interactive sessions, complex clinical cases and presentations on major topics such as congenital heart diseases, valvular surgery, minimally invasive interventions and advanced robotics, as well as topics related to innovative treatments for pulmonary hypertension, hybrid surgery for aortic dissections, the management of surgical complications in severe congenital diseases, the use of the latest diagnosis and treatment technologies, new solutions for advanced heart failure and the role of AI in the assessment of valvular diseases.

„EABM 2024 brings together some of the most influential leaders in the field of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, facilitating dialogue and cooperation between experts from various regions of the world. This congress is not only a framework for learning and experience exchanges, but also an opportunity to develop transcontinental partnerships that will support innovations in our field. For Romanian experts, EABM 2024 is a concrete opportunity to access cutting-edge knowledge in the field and to interact directly with numerous international experts who are in Romania for the first time. The congress offers Romanian surgeons the opportunity to share their achievements and to actively contribute to the development of international standards in cardiovascular surgery. Access to the latest technologies and procedures will support the modernization process of the Romanian medical system and facilitate the continuous improvement of treatments for patients, at national level,” said Professor Grigore Tinica.

Professor Georges B. Tedy, Chancellor of the Euro-Asian Bridge Society of Cardiac Surgery, said in a release that the EABM aims to provide a platform for dialogue and collaboration between specialists from various cultures and regions, having as a main mission promoting excellence through friendship and innovation in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery on all continents.

According to the organizers of the event, a specialized medical exhibition displaying the latest equipment and technological solutions in the medical field will run in parallel with the congress, showcasing innovative products, from devices for minimally invasive interventions to solutions for advanced patient monitoring.

The event is organized under the auspices of the „Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iasi, in partnership with the Romanian Society of Cardiovascular Surgery, the Iasi Clinical and Experimental Cardiovascular Research Foundation, the Iasi College of Physicians, the Iasi branch of the Academy of Medical Sciences, the Academy of Romanian Scientists, the „Nicolae Testemitanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy from the Republic of Moldova, the Romanian Society of Anesthesia-Intensive Care, the Iasi Society of Family Medicine, the Center for Analysis and Strategic Mentoring in Iasi, the Romanian Student Surgery Society, and the Iasi Society of Medicine Students.
