The Minister of Education and Research, Daniel David participated, on Monday, in the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Faculty of Law of the „Babes-Bolyai” University (UBB) in Cluj-Napoca.
He recalled, in his speech, that the project of the new headquarters of the Faculty of Law began during his mandate as rector and reviewed the stages of the project.
„If you want performance, you have to make sure that you strengthen the human resource and that you develop the infrastructure”, said Minister Daniel David.
The inauguration of the new headquarters was attended, among others, by Prefect Maria Forna, representatives of the Superior Council of Magistracy, of other law faculties from the country and from the Republic of Moldova, representatives of local and regional authorities.
The new headquarters of the Faculty of Law represents one of the major investments of UBB, the building being modernized from the European funds allocated, within the North-West Regional Program 2021-2027, to the project entitled „Restructuring, rehabilitation, interior modifications and change of destination of Building C2 from hotel to educational spaces”. As a result of these investments, the students of the Faculty of Law will benefit from modern teaching and research spaces – 3 amphitheaters (one of which has a capacity of 400 seats, the others with approximately 200 seats), 4 lecture halls with 60 seats each, 18 seminar rooms with 27 seats each, a conference hall, as well as modern spaces for the faculty library and offices.
The total value of the project is 32.8 million lei, of which 16.1 million lei represents co-financing from the European Union.
