Importance of maintaining allocations for cohesion and common agriculture policies emphasized by interim president Bolojan

Interim President Ilie Bolojan and the European Commissioner for Budget, Anti-Fraud and Public Administration, Piotr Serafin, met on Thursday at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace, context in which the former stressed the importance of maintaining the allocations for the cohesion policy and the common agricultural policy in the future EU budget and finding solutions to the current challenges in the areas of competitiveness, defence and security.

„At the meeting with European Commissioner Piotr Serafin I emphasized the importance of maintaining the role and allocations for the cohesion policy and the common agricultural policy in the future EU budget, while at the same time trying to find solutions to meet the current challenges in the areas of competitiveness, defence and security,” Ilie Bolojan wrote on the X platform.

The representative of the European Commission is on a two-day visit to Romania, aimed at improving social inclusion, creating jobs and strengthening local communities with the help of EU funds.

This visit is part of the pan-European consultations carried out by the European Commission ahead of the presentation of the next EU long-term budget, planned for July this year. A
