The in vitro fertilization program continues this year as well, the Romanian state is committed to building 150 day care centers for children from vulnerable families, and several European projects are in the analysis stage at the European Commission, the minister of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities, Natalia Intotero, said Tuesday, in a press conference.
„For the year 2023 we had 10,000 in vitro procedures declared eligible (…) For this year, the same number of 10,000, all that means eligibility criteria,” Intotero said.
Regarding the creation of day care centers for children, the minister emphasized that their role is to support vulnerable families.
„Through the National Resilience and Recovery Plan, the Romanian state has committed to the creation of 150 day centers for children from vulnerable families, as well as children with disabilities. The role of these centers is to support these families, to carry out several activities with them, starting from health education, remedial classes, psychological counseling, so that by the end of a program of about four hours each day, the children will return to their families,” Intotero added.
Minister Intotero also referred to several European projects currently under analysis by the European Commission, such as a caravan to stop violence of any type and to stop addictions, a project whose value exceeds 650,000 euros, a project of support for single-parent families, worth approximately 80 million euros, a project worth approximately 41 million euros, a request from us to the Ministry of Health for complementary implementation, to accelerate the addiction process for treatment of young people and children suffering from these addiction forms, but also the government credit programs „Student Invest” and „Family Start”.
