Increase in pension tax ceiling to 3,000 RON should be applicable from October 1

Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu declared on Monday that the increase of the pension tax ceiling to 3,000 RON will represent a „first emergency” of the governing coalition, so that the decision will be applicable from October 1.

„Because the parliamentary session starts today, I announce that the first emergency of the PSD-PNL coalition is the emergency debate of the draft law on increasing the tax ceiling on pensions to 3,000 RON. We are adopting this project in an accelerated process and thus giving time to the houses of pensions to prepare the system to apply the decision starting with October 1,” said the prime minister, at the beginning of the Government meeting.

He emphasized that the recalculation decisions, as a result of which the pensions were increased, will not be cancelled. He also stated that the Ggvernment is „rapidly” preparing a compensation mechanism for blind and disabled pensioners.

„We fix all these injustices and show that we value the work of those who raised this country. Only in this way can we build a fair Romania in the future,” Ciolacu pointed out.
